Brief
SpaMedica is one of the leading providers of NHS eye patient services and the largest NHS cataract surgery provider in the UK.
Axis House were tasked to convert an office space at Marshes End, Poole, into SpaMedica’s newest eye clinic in just 8 weeks.
Solution
The programme of works commenced with the complete strip out of the site before reinstating mechanical and electrical services including air conditioning, data cabling and alarm systems.
The CAT B fit-out that followed, involved creating reception and waiting areas, diagnostic and treatment rooms, stock rooms and stores, changing rooms, toilets, staff canteen and office spaces.
As a medical facility, hygiene factors are a key focus for fit-out. In line with this, cap and cove vinyl flooring is installed throughout for ease of cleaning. Bathrooms and changing rooms also feature IPS panelling (Integrated plumbing system) to provide easy access for service and maintenance.
Following practical completion of the project, both on time and on budget, a member of staff stayed on for a further week to assist staff with the installation of additional fixed items such as notice boards and racking.
The result is a bright, practical, and professional space, ready to welcome new staff and patients alike.
