Platinum Group comprises one of the UK’s leading employment agencies as well as a worldwide supply chain management company. Having seen our work in action in the same building as their new offices, the team turned to AXIS House to level up their work environment with an emphasis on collaboration.

The brief included provision for open-plan, breakout spaces for meetings, training sessions and socialising, as well as a desking area flooded with natural light. We used VR technology to help the team at Platinum visualise their new workplace, enabling a virtual walkthrough experience prior to signing off the proposed design.

“It’s been a privilege to provide a space that prioritises staff wellbeing and positivity. We now have an office that befits our amazing teams and their values.”

Neil Allen
Managing Director, Platinum Group

We brought the Platinum directors’ vision to life by creating playful spaces focused on wellbeing and collaboration.

Transforming Platinum’s new, 8,000 sq ft office unit in Bournemouth, we crafted distinct, functional zones with an overriding aesthetic of warm, contemporary tones and textures. The breakout areas bring a playful touch with provision for table tennis and snooker.

The generous desking area is capable of seating every member of staff, as well as glazed meeting rooms and a stylish kitchen. Sustainability objectives were also brought into consideration when sourcing materials for this project such as the 100% recycled ECONYL carpet tiles.

Seeking inspiration from the natural world

Bringing the outside in breathes life into the workplace, enhancing wellbeing and productivity. Our design team leveraged biophilic elements by…

  • Adding greenery to the branded feature wall in the reception area and above the island in the kitchen zone to bring vibrancy to the scheme while introducing welcome visual contrast.
  • Installing a fish tank within the partition between the breakout areas creates atalking point while adding life, movement and fun to the space.
  • Ethically sourced timber brings in textures of the natural world while meeting Platinum Group’s sustainability objectives and minimising the environmental impact of the project.
  • An open-plan design increases the flow of natural light across the breakout and desking areas, leading to reduced energy usage, improved cognitive function and wellbeing.

Bringing the staff together with vibrant spaces

A key part of the brief was to deliver attractive, communal spaces to encourage staff interaction while providing open-plan areas for meetings, team huddles and training sessions.

Table tennis and snooker tables take centre stage, with adjacent tiered seating for whole team meetings and encouraging informal staff touchdowns.

Incorporating essential technology

Supplying the latest hardware for a state-of-the-art office was essential for this innovative client, which is why we incorporated technology into every aspect of the design.

Digital desk booking, display screens and an area specifically designed for the recording of Platinum’s podcast all contribute to a fully connected office experience.

Dynamic spaces delivered on time and on budget

Within a tight, six-week window, we put the ‘fun’ into functional for this playful and highly effective office fit-out. The project was delivered on time and on budget, providing the client with a space they felt perfectly positioned them for their next phase of business growth.
