Specialist Eye Surgery with the AXIS House touch
Based in Portsmouth, LaserVision is a specialist eye surgery and consultancy that utilise the latest medical advances. The brief involved a purpose-built healthcare fit-out that had to be pleasing to the eye. For the new 10,000 sq ft space, the design was clearly a priority from the outset – however other considerations that come with a healthcare fit-out also had to be factored in.
From the first meeting with LaserVision, our expertise in the healthcare fit-out space helped to answer any initial questions. Undertaking a complete fit-out can be daunting for any business owner and our close working relationship with the client really made a difference.
Solution
The Vitals
When it comes to a healthcare fit-out, there are always some non-negotiables. As a laser eye surgery, we obviously had to install two state-of-the-art theatres for surgeries and the whole design had to be CQC (Care Quality Commission) approved. LaserVision wanted a boutique hospitality feel to the reception and waiting area to create a relaxing environment so that clients feel at ease from the moment they walk in for what can be a daunting procedure. Anaesthetic recovery pods were also installed along with several consultancy pods.
As an independent private practice, LaserVision wanted more than just a surgery. Their vision was to add value to their customer’s experience and provide the absolute best when it comes to consultancy and care. Having chosen AXIS House to make that vision come to life, we worked together throughout the design process to achieve this extremely high-end medical facility to enable LaserVision to provide the best standard of care.
High quality, high spec
For a full healthcare fit-out, only a top of the range specification was suitable. Back-up power supplies, overhead lights and specialist ventilation were all required to create the best possible theatre rooms. Various other technologies were all to a top-quality standard. There was a serious focus on patient well-being. LaserVision wanted to create an enhanced user experience that could take their patients from consultancy to aftercare in the best possible way.
Working in Partnership
Working closely with the clients, we maintained an open line of communication during the fit-out process as the client made decisions on the design in real-time. During the project, we were able to work closer than ever with our clients at LaserVision to ensure the end product was exactly what they had hoped for.
Now that the practice is fully functional, LaserVision helps thousands of clients improve their eyesight while offering an excellent customer journey that completely revolves around its patients.
The team has been brilliant. We’ve really enjoyed the process and everything has run like clockwork.“
