Luxury car manufacturer Genesis Motor UK, a division of Hyundai Motor Group, wanted a new head office that would embody its global brand identity while having the scope to adapt to the rapid growth and evolving business needs. The space had to meet the requirements of both office-based and remote employees.

Having conducted a previous survey for Genesis in relation to another site, AXIS House was already familiar to the team as a trusted, professional partner commited to fostering long-term relationships. As a result, we were the natural choice to undertake a comprehensive consultation, design and build programme for the Genesis UK headquarters.

“The support, dedication and professionalism of the AXIS House team has been instrumental to the success of this project. We would have no hesitation in recommending them to others.”

Genesis Motor UK

The new Genesis HQ features premium quality finishes and exacting attention to detail to reflect the prestigious nature of this global brand.

Genesis is known for luxury, expertise and exceptional service. To achieve seamless brand alignment, we created a series of spaces featuring clean lines, contemporary finishes, and a pared-back palette of charcoal, white and beige, with wood tones and metallic accents.

The functional zones of the new head office include a reception area, meeting rooms, desking areas, a breakout space and a kitchen. Our designers sought inspiration from Genesis cars themselves for some elements of the fit-out, such as the grid-like, metal room dividers reflecting the design of a Genesis car’s distinctive grille.

Meeting the needs of a hybrid workforce

With a third of the Genesis team working in a hybrid capacity, we designed spaces to support their needs in the following ways…

  • A contemporary hot-desking area with plenty of natural light and black-and-white furniture to reflect company branding.
  • Integrated technology with built-in screens to enable seamless communication with the international Genesis network.
  • Optimised space flow to enhance user experience and encourage collaboration.
  • Biophilic touches such as natural planting to reduce stress and create a welcoming place to work.

Let there be light

One of the key objectives with this design and fit-out was to create an abundance of natural light to ensure a comfortable and productive work environment.

We did this by positioning the desking areas close to the floor-to-ceiling windows. Bringing the outside in is proven to aid productivity, focus and wellbeing.

A fully connected workforce

With a global reach and ambitious expansion plans, Genesis needed cutting-edge technology embedded in the design of its new UK head office.

We collaborated with a specialist consultant to integrate state-of-the-art plug-and-play screens to facilitate seamless communication with international colleagues and partners.

Reflecting a distinct brand identity

Completed in just eight weeks, the new head office supports both full-time and hybrid working patterns, while adhering to the company’s distinctive visual identity.

The project received positive feedback from senior staff across the global Genesis network: “We are delighted with the outcome, which has more than met the team’s expectations.”
