In October, we had the pleasure of hosting an exclusive invite-only CPD and networking event at our showroom office in Dorset. The day proved to be a dynamic platform to reflect on market shifts over the past year and explore 2025’s emerging trends. Guests enjoyed thought-provoking insights into cognitive science and sustainable design, all while savouring their favourite cocktails. As one attendee remarked, this was “the best event I have ever been to”.
Guests heard from May Fawzy, Interior Architecture Director at MD Design Studio and President of the British Institute of Interior Design. She discussed the powerful synergy between sustainable design and designing for well-being, with a spotlight on WELL certifications – a shared passion with AXIS House. May delved into how human-centred and environmentally conscious design practices can create spaces that not only transform the way their users work, but also actively support and sustain our ecosystem.
Alongside a packed agenda, guests enjoyed a gourmet canapé luncheon. Cocktail masterclasses and mixology sessions provided a fun and relaxing way to network throughout the afternoon, as the weekend began. For those needing to jump on a call or tackle an urgent task, we also offered private meeting booths and pods within our workplace, which was greatly appreciated by attendees.
Steven Souter, Insight Programme Manager at Colebrook Bosson Saunders, equipped attendees with practical tips for enhancing their workspaces. His discussion, ‘Cognition in the Office of the Future’, focused on the role of cognitive science and ergonomic working styles in shaping tomorrow’s workplaces. Steven explored how these advancements will drive productivity, creativity, and employee satisfaction.
