Our Impact

Giving back is core to our culture at AXIS House. Whether through philanthropic volunteer work, events and giving programs, we understand that our business does not exist purely to make money. We have a duty to improve lives of those around us and minimise our environmental impact.

Sustainability

The built environment accounts for nearly a quarter of total global greenhouse gas emissions. Extreme weather events linked to climate change are occurring with ever greater frequency. Together, we can take meaningful, workable action to do our part in tackling climate change.

AXIS House is ISO 14001 certified and committed to operating a sustainable business model that encompasses our own business operations in Ringwood, our complete supply chains as well as work carried out on client sites. We assess and design all schemes following BREEAM and SKA rating system to demonstrate the environmental impact of each fit-out project and target a gold level of sustainability practice and specification, as part of our standard tender process.

Sustainable priorities include:

  • Emissions reduction
  • Prioritise quality, local SME suppliers to minimise traffic and materials movement
  • Maintain 99.50% wastage level diversion from landfill
  • Proactively using and specifying sustainable materials that can be re-used, recycled at end-of-life
  • Digitisation of assets and communications wherever possible
Our Impact

Charity

As a business, we believe in helping and supporting those less fortunate than ourselves. We regularly donate to a range of nominated charities and the team run events throughout the year raising additional funds for these and other local charities.

In 2021, AXIS House joined with sister team, INTRAsystems to trek a total distance of 6,000 miles, equivalent to a complete circuit of the UK coast on behalf of Mind and Alzheimer’s Society. In 2019, we supported a local, Naomi House’s Peter Rabbit and Store Wars Charity Events. And in previous years we’ve run marathons, played football matches and ping-pong tournaments, collected food and old, unwanted coats to give to charities supporting the homeless, refugees and children in poverty as part of the Wrap up London campaign. We’ve even embarked on a cycling and piano playing marathon, non-stop for 12 hours!

Charity

The AXIS House team regularly joins up with sister company, INTRAsystems, to take part in all sorts of charitable activities and events. In May 2022 the office was quiet for a couple of days as everyone hiked high and low along the Jurassic Coast, raising over £1,000 for the MS Society. 2021 saw the team play ping pong whilst collecting food for our local foodbank and collectively trekked 6,000 miles, equivalent to a complete circuit of the UK coast on behalf of Mind and Alzheimer’s Society.

In 2019, we actively supported Peter Rabbit and Store Wars Events run by Naomi House. And in previous years we’ve run marathons, played football matches, collected old, unwanted coats as part of the Wrap up London campaign. We’ve even embarked on a non-stop cycling and piano playing marathon, for 12 hours!
