Giving back is core to our culture at AXIS House.
Whether through philanthropic volunteer work, events and giving programs, we understand that our business does not exist purely to make money. We have a duty to improve lives of those around us and minimise our environmental impact.
Sustainability
The built environment accounts for nearly a quarter of total global greenhouse gas emissions. Extreme weather events linked to climate change are occurring with ever greater frequency. Together, we can take meaningful, workable action to do our part in tackling climate change.
AXIS House is ISO 14001 certified and committed to operating a sustainable business model that encompasses our own business operations in Wimborne, our complete supply chains as well as work carried out on client sites. We assess and design all schemes following BREEAM and SKA rating system to demonstrate the environmental impact of each fit-out project and target a gold level of sustainability practice and specification, as part of our standard tender process.

Sustainable
priorities
Emissions reduction
We aim to reduce carbon emissions on every fit-out project by streamlining logistics, optimising delivery schedules, and encouraging smarter energy use both on and off site.
Prioritise local
We prioritise trusted SME suppliers to minimise travel miles, reduce delivery congestion, and ensure materials arrive efficiently—cutting carbon while supporting the local economy.
Landfill diversion
We maintain a 99.5% diversion rate from landfill by sorting waste streams effectively, working with recycling partners, and constantly improving site waste management practices.
Sustainable materials
We choose materials that are responsibly sourced, recyclable or reusable, and certified sustainable—helping to reduce environmental impact across the full product lifecycle.
Circular design thinking
Wherever possible, we design with reusability and disassembly in mind—selecting finishes and systems that can be reused, remanufactured, or recycled at end of life.
Digitise comms
We digitise communications, handovers, and asset data to reduce paper use, streamline documentation, and ensure long-term building information is easily accessible and low-impact.

Charity
The AXIS House team regularly takes part in all sorts of charitable activities and events. In May 2022 the office was quiet for a couple of days as everyone hiked high and low along the Jurassic Coast, raising over £1,000 for the MS Society. 2021 saw the team play ping pong whilst collecting food for our local foodbank and collectively trekked 6,000 miles, equivalent to a complete circuit of the UK coast on behalf of Mind and Alzheimer’s Society.
In 2019, we actively supported Peter Rabbit and Store Wars Events run by Naomi House. And in previous years we’ve run marathons, played football matches, collected old, unwanted coats as part of the Wrap up London campaign. We’ve even embarked on a non-stop cycling and piano playing marathon, for 12 hours!
